I am actively seeking highly motivated PhD students to join me in conducting research on the following areas: (1) risk assessment under natural hazards, (2) resilience-based decision-making for critical infrastructures, and (3) robust analysis and design of wave/wind energy systems. Our research will involve leveraging advanced techniques, including machine learning, data analytics, and uncertainty quantification. The successful candidate will be fully funded, and the starting date can be in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and/or C++
  • Solid background in statistics, optimization, and machine learning
